Strong - IF

If you struggle and give up it shows weakness!
If you struggle but persist to the end, to the best of your ability,
No matter how poor that ability may be,
Then you are STRONG!

I struggled to finish this mini project ( a birthday gift for my daughters Great-Grandad!) but I saw it through to the end and am now rather proud of the work! Perseverance has made me stronger and built up my confidence to try longer projects in the future!

What do you think, did my perseverance pay off? Any tips on watercolours or typology will be very appreciated! thanks Sam x

  2. yay, i get to see the sweet pictures for the book! i really love great granddad holding a guitar and lilly wearing big hat, carrying a watering can! Kewl! i hope you feel very proud of what you've achieved, the hardwork paid off, i bet granddad loves his gift.
typography? i think the fact that you've handwritten is very nice, it shows more of a personal touch, as its a present. x

  3. I am glad you persevered and didn't put off finishing this project. It would have been sad for Lilly's great grandfather never to see this. I think you have found your strength to keep challenging yourself. Everything about how you draw and how you write is very individual and what one person likes another may not. I don't think anyone can say how you should put it together. I believe in ones own self expression and experimentation.

  4. What a very special gift! Well done!! What a sweet story, and good for your persistence! I know how that feels to put things off!

As for tips on watercolor/type..wow, that's hard to say because the flowiness of the lettering works so nicely for the piece..it's whimsical and easy-to-read. I guess the only thing I would watch for is when the word breaks the spine of the card...perhaps if the story were on a landscape vs. portrait layout, you can get more of the long flowy lines? Just a thought. Your watercolors are very nice!
